We've had some lovely feedback following our Christmas Concert which was held on Thursday 15th December at St Mary's Church, Merton.
Our Year 11 students had much to celebrate this morning as we congratulated them on achieving their GCSE and BTEC results. They have coped amazingly well with the disruptions and many changes due to the Covid19 pandemic, showing true resilience throughout the two years and the exam season. Students have been awarded excellent sets of grades which build upon the school’s previous achievements as Rutlish remains one of the highest achieving state boys’ schools in the country. Councillor Sally Kenny met some students whilst they collected their results.
We are very proud of our Year 13 students who have excelled themselves in their first ever set of external exam results. Students were delighted to receive their results this morning and we are pleased to announce they have attained excellent A Level and Level 3 BTEC grades.
It has been a busy start to the Spring Term for the Rutlish PE department and students involved in fixtures and extra-curricular clubs. Here's a small picture of what they have been up to.
After a successful performance in 2020, the Rutlish English Department welcomed back The Globe Players to perform Macbeth to the current Year 11 students.
Tender is an arts and education charity committed to preventing domestic abuse and sexual violence amongst young people, by promoting healthy relationships. They visited Rutlish School to deliver workshops to year 9 and 10.
We have had a fantastic turnout for our inter-house football competition this week. We watched some great football skills and top class goals have been scored with even better celebrations!
We are delighted to be able to showcase the musical talent at Rutlish in the Christmas Concert, although Covid restrictions have meant student were unable to perform in person.
Rutlish School careers provision saw two challenge days this term, for all Year 7 and Year 10 students and we have more planned during the year for other year groups.
The week of 15 November 2021 was Anti-Bullying Week with the theme of ‘one kind word’.
